His program has been around for 14 years and funded with WIOA funds. They offer courses to local and statewide offenders. This is a two-week training program to train offenders in power industrial truck driver (forklift, reach and order-picker), inventory clerk, receiving clerk/shipping clerk, material technician, safety officers, stock clerk/stockroom clerk and production workers.  I also recieved the following information from Shaun Couch who supervises KDOC Job Specialists statewide: At the end of the two-week course, they will obtain OSHA 10 safety certification, OSHA power industrial truck certification class l, ll, lll, FedEx/UPS software training, and learn interview skills.

The offenders and other Justice involved individual will learn Microsoft office 365, conflict management skills, problem solving/team activities, how to send a professional email and resume building/job interviewing.

The offender is required to have an I-9 form, state issued ID, Birth certificate and social security card or letter from a social security office stating that the replacement card is on its way. They do not require a GED or high school diploma.

David will be conducting short 30-45 minute presentations at our facilities every 60 days for offenders releasing around the state!
